MANCHESTER CITY defender Joao Cancelo has announced his engagement to partner Daniela Machado after ten years of dating.
The Portuguese full-back, who is childhood sweethearts with the stunning 25-year-old, popped the question while on holiday in the Maldives.
Cancelo’s summer started off in the worst possible fashion after he was ruled out of Euro 2020 following his positive coronavirus test.
And his absence proved crucial as Portugal were dumped out by Belgium in the last-16, while they only finished in third spot in Group F.
After completing a period of isolation, the 27-year-old jetted off the Maldives with Machado, where he proposed to her on the beach.
The pair have both taken to social media to announce their engagement, with Machado proudly showing off her ring.
In a post shared to his 1.8 million Instagram followers, Cancelo uploaded a snap of the ring with the ‘Will you marry me’ sign in the background.
He simply said: “She said yes #blessed.”
His Manchester City team-mate Kyle Walker was quick to comment, as he messaged: “Congratulations my brother.”
Citizens centre-back Nathan Ake added: “Congrats bro!”
