Napoli have approached Ajax to ask after Argentina international defender Nicolas Tagliafico, according to Sky Sport Italia, but face competition from Olympique Marseille.
This is certainly not the first time that the Partenopei have been linked with Tagliafico, who was also a target over the summer and even the season before that.
Now Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims another bid has been made with contact between the two clubs.
Tagliafico’s current contract only runs to June 2023 and he has 13 competitive appearances for Ajax so far this season.
The 29-year-old was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America last summer.
He has also earned interest from French side Olympique Marseille.
Crucially, due to his Italian heritage, Tagliafico has an Italian passport and could therefore be registered as an EU player.
His versatility is valuable to Napoli, as he is a left-back, but can also play in central defence.
